Before the App: Inaccurate, Incomplete, and Manual Data

Before building the Simple Farms platform, farmers tracked crop data with spreadsheets, paper notes, and DIY formulas. These tools were based on experience, not analytics, leading to inconsistent, hard-to-trust numbers. As a result, farmers struggled to prove value, secure financing, or forecast profitability. Simple Farms wanted to change that—starting with better data entry and margin analysis.

Our Approach: A Gamified Platform for Reliable Crop Margin Tracking

303 Software worked with Simple Farms to design and develop a cross-platform solution that made crop data entry intuitive, accurate, and even enjoyable. Through a gamified interface inspired by strategy games, farmers and their teams could easily enter key data points in real time.

We partnered with D+i Creative to shape the visual brand and interface. The product needed to work equally well on mobile and desktop, across a range of devices and user skill levels. Features included:
